Patient Warming - Applications - Perioperative & ICU

Coloured blocks

Inditherm have exploited their patented flexible polymer technology to improve patient warming performance. The price advantages allow warming to be applied to a much wider range of patients and clinical situations. Products have been customised to take into account the needs of routine and specialised procedures alike. Applications include: Operating Room; Recovery Room (PACU); Anaesthetic Room; Intensive Care; Accident & Emergency; Patient Transport.

Operating Room

The Inditherm Operating Room Mattress allows the surgical and anaesthetic teams full access to the patient, whilst maintaining patient core temperature. The uniform heat transfer characteristics, combined with large contact area, ensure the patient is warmed without affecting the surrounding environment and staff. The products come in a range of sizes and are X-Ray translucent.

Recovery Room (PACU)

Inditherm's Recovery Blanket is designed to prevent heat loss in the vulnerable post-operative stage. Mattresses can also be used as a very cost effective solution for preventing hypothermia and associated complications after surgery. The products are re-usable and require no consumables.

Anaesthetic Room

The simplicity with which the warming system can be set up make it ideal for extending the warming period to include time in the anaesthetic room. This ensures normal patient temperature is maintained in the important period immediately following induction of anaesthesia.

Intensive Care

Inditherm mattresses have been clinically proven to provide warming performance equivalent to, or better than, traditional warm air systems (Baxendale, et al, 2000). Warming blankets using the same technology can also be used as an alternative, or to augment warming.

Accident & Emergency

Hypothermia is common in patients presenting as emergency cases. Clinical studies have shown that the Inditherm system is effective in re-warming and more convenient than traditional air warming methods (Munns, et al).

Patient Transport

Management of hypothermia is best initiated as soon as possible after onset. The Inditherm mattress system is ideally suited for use in ambulances, to warm patients during transport, and can run off the vehicle low voltage system.

Fully Compliant

Inditherm products have been proven in a wide range of demanding Operating Room environments. They have been shown to be fully compatible with all other electronic medical devices. Products are fully approved to international medical device standards.
