SpeedHeat - Principles

Coloured blocks

SpeedHeat is a new method for applying controlled heat to an injured muscle or ligament. Using Inditherm's flexible polymer heating technology, SpeedHeat delivers heat directly to the injury, aiding the healing process.

Principle

Heat treatment of muscle and ligament injuries is normally applied during the repair stage. Heat therapy helps to treat the injury by increasing perfusion and assisting tissue repair, and when applied to "tight" muscles, helps to relax them reducing the risk of injury.

Traditional muscle heat treatment devices used by physiotherapists have included wheat bags, infrared radiant lamps, hot water bottles, hot baths, and heat packs, none of which provide for controlled treatment. SpeedHeat allows you to apply precise, regulated warming directly to an injured muscle, tendon or ligament.

Individual Heating Pads

Individual heating pads have been designed to fit all major muscle groups, to deliver heat directly to the affected area. Pads are flexible, lightweight units that can be used individually or in any combination. All heating pads operate at a safe low voltage.

Control units

SpeedHeat control units display the temperature of the heating pad. Variable control enables the physiotherapist to increase or reduce temperature as required for the treatment. Once set the temperature is automatically retained in the memory for the next treatment cycle. Control units are available as either single controllers or with triple outputs to independently control upto three heating pads at the same time.
