Inditherm's high performance heating technology is based on its unique,
patented, carbon-based conductive polymer technology (CPT) that generates
uniform heat over its entire surface area, preventing any unwanted hot or cold
spots. It has many advantages over traditional forms of heating, such as
electrical trace heating, hot water, steam, hot air, cable, hot wire, electric
elements, carbon filaments and chemicals.
Powered by a low voltage supply (ranging from 6Vdc to 12Vdc and 24Vac to
65Vac), this safe and efficient system is ideal for both operators and energy
conscious users.
Inditherm can be operated in environments ranging from -40°C to +140°C. The
heating range is from ambient up to 120°C and the variation over the surface
area is less than ±1°C/m 2 . The temperature can be controlled to
within ±2°C in most applications.
The technology is ideal in the following
situations:
- Where very uniform heating is required (e.g., medical
heating mattresses, pipework, tanks and vessels in confectionary, food,
chemical and pharmaceutical plants).
- For heating awkward shapes, such as pipework, valves,
pumps, IBCs and storage vessels in industrial applications and medical heating
pads for rheumatology, muscle injury treatment, and heat therapy.
- For heating large areas, such as sports pitches,
newly-laid concrete (for accelerated curing and frost protection), bridges,
ramps, pavements or roofs.
- For heating applications where ease of access is
necessary. Inditherm's removable heated or un-heated jackets are ideal for
giving users access to pumps, valves, meters, storage vessels or chemical
dosing lines.
- Where energy usage is important and savings are required; in heating
applications, Inditherm typically uses less than one third of the energy of
alternative technologies.
Inditherm is typically supplied in one of two forms:
- Mounted on an insulated backing and encased in an
appropriate cover. Applications include medical mattresses, sports pitch
heaters, utility chemical dosing line heaters, removable covers for heating in
most industrial applications, blankets for accelerated concrete curing and
frost protection.
- As heated pads encased in a rugged cover, mounted
directly in contact with the surface to be heated. It can then be
covered by conventional insulation and cladding (for heating for pipework, valves, pumps and storage
vessels) or inserted or encased into the product or material to be
heated (for infrastructure heating, synthetic turf applications and certain custom
products).
In addition, the Company supplies a wide range of standard or custom-made
insulation and noise-reduction products for use in industrial environments.
These are ideal for storage vessels and tanks of any size, IBCs, drums, pumps,
valves and industrial or utility pipework.
