Inditherm had to react quickly recently to help Moorfields Hospital in Dubai, UAE. The hospital contacted Inditherm needing a patient warming system urgently in order to carry out operations on small children the following week. Research has shown that it is very important to prevent hypothermia in surgical patients as this reduces the risk of wound infections, blood loss and mortality, at the same giving faster recovery times.
The Inditherm Alpha system was specified by the hospital and two systems were ordered with a request for urgent delivery. Within 7 days the systems were in use in the Moorfields operating theatres, having been shipped, received at the hospital, tested and installed!
Expressing their gratitude to Inditherm for such quick reaction, the Operations Manager & Chief Nurse at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Patricia Simons, said: “Please thank everyone involved in getting this to us so quickly. We have 3 small children who urgently need surgery to prevent sight loss, and with the warming system delivered we can go ahead and treat them.” One of her colleagues added: “the warmers are working perfectly – we are very surprised they arrived so quickly. We appreciate it very much – that’s what we call absolute good service”.
