Inditherm
Medical have recently introduced TraumaTherm, specifically designed for the
emergency room, ambulance and military applications.
TraumaTherm uses
Inditherm's flexible polymer technology to provide a patient warming system
dedicated for emergency situations, and offers advantages in terms of
performance and convenience. This
system builds on the existing medical product ranges, which are already well
established for use in the perioperative and neonatal areas.
The unrivalled
warming is achieved due to the uniform heating surface and built-in pressure
relief foam. TraumaTherm is
lightweight, compact, easily cleaned and requires minimal maintenance. Mattresses and blankets are X-Ray
translucent, an important consideration in the emergency room
situation.
Recent research
has demonstrated the benefit of warming a range of trauma patients, in terms of
pain, anxiety and comfort. This
adds to the well established advantages of reduced blood loss, wound infections
and mortality during surgery. The
TraumaTherm system makes warming completely practical, even in the most
difficult emergency situations where unhindered access to the patient is
required.
